challenge.
Influencer marketing has rapidly evolved into a powerful marketing strategy for brands to build genuine connections with their target audiences. Influencers have been able to leverage their social media presence to shape consumer perceptions. However, using the full potential of influencer marketing can be daunting.

Influenzit was conceived as a solution to the escalating problem of influencer management. Due to the lack of proper structure, brands and businesses find it difficult to find and collaborate with the right influencers and properly manage their campaigns.
discovery.
To start the influenzit project, I conducted research in order to understand the users. The demographic, goals, frustrations and understand current process of unstructured influencer discovery and management. I led the team on conducting competitive analysis and user surveys.
The aim of the research was to:
  • Understand the current end-to-end process of influencer marketing from the POV of both the influencers and business owners.
  • Identify the limitations and constraints of the current influencing marketing system as experienced by both parties.
Who are our users?
  • Influencers and Content creators
  • Brands/Business Owners
discovery.
Our research approach incorporated multiple methods to gather comprehensive user insights:
In-depth interviews with teachers across different age groups and locations.
Focus group discussions to understand collective pain points.
User walkthrough sessions to observe real-time interaction patterns.
Analysis of platform usage data and dropout rates.
findings.
user personas
The user personas were created to represent our target audience based on the insights gathered from the user research. I created multiple users personas, for both influencers and brands.
findings.
understanding our users: beyond demographics
The user personas were created to represent our target audience based on the insights gathered from the user research. I created 4 different users personas, 2 for influencers and creators and 2 for brands and business owners.
competitive analysis
I did a competitive analysis exploring key players in the influencer marketing platform space, with a focus on features, pricing and user experience. This analysis provided insights into positioning a new or existing platform effectively against competitors.

I was able to identify some market gaps and opportunities such as:
  • Afordable and feature rich platform: Most platforms were either expensive with a lot of features or affordable with low-end capabilities. Our solution should a sweet spot between affordability and features.
  • Simplified analytics for small businesses: Providing easy-to-understand performance reports can make influencer marketing more accessible.
  • Enhanced payment management: Ensure that both brands get value for their money and influencers receive compensation in a timely manner.

the three point problem.
From our findings we were able to identify and define the problems into 3 different segments.
Discovery:
Finding the right influencers is a tedious manual process across multiple platforms, with businesses lacking reliable data and standardized methods to verify authenticity and assess brand fit.
Collaboration:
Communication and content approval processes are done across various channels, making it difficult to maintain professional relationships and track deliverables effectively.
Management:
Without a centralized system, businesses struggle to track multiple partnerships, measure performance, and demonstrate ROI with concrete data.
Ideation.
brainstorming.

  • Collaboration: Built-in messaging & campaign dashboard, escrow payment services, immediate support and dispute resolution.
  • Management: Performance analytics and milestone based tracking and delivery.

Armed with the results gotten from the user research sessions and a list of feautures identified and outline for the MVP. I worked on a user flow that highlighted how brands/clients and influencers interact with the platform, from onboarding to discovery, collaboration, campaign tracking and management.
